# Google Street View route references

This folder contains 120 individually inspected browser viewport screenshots at 54 camera positions along Rörstrandsgatan, Norrbackagatan and the approach into Hagastaden, saved on 12 September 2026. Open `../../site/route.html` for the location index and full viewing links.

Each JPG retains the full browser viewport, including Google's visible attribution. `manifest.json` records the exact observed Maps URL, panorama location and view direction, imagery credit/date, screenshot time, file dimensions and SHA-256 hash. The adjacent `.ax.txt` records the visible browser accessibility text. `capture-locations.geojson` contains the panorama positions read from those URLs; they are not surveyed or calibrated camera poses. The numbered captures are samples, not continuous coverage or a routed walk. The expanded pass adds 104 screenshots at 52 planned stops, with two opposing views at each stop. Street View sometimes places nearby stops at the same panorama; all 120 panorama/view combinations are distinct.

## Browse the collection

The route gallery supports street, address/notes and imagery-year filters, with new captures shown first. `contact-sheet.jpg` provides an overview of all 120 images, and `review/` contains larger batch contact sheets. The manifest records camera-location labels, dates and notes about obstructions. Images 073 and 074 are June 2011 historical views; all other images are from 2022–2026.

## Source and use

The screenshots contain proprietary Google Street View imagery and have **no open license**. They are kept outside the open-image catalog and are not included by the reconstruction subset tool. Keeping attribution does not grant reuse rights.

Google's [Geo Guidelines](https://about.google/brand-resource-center/products-and-services/geo-guidelines/) prohibit screenshots of Street View or removal from embedded sources; this archive does not establish permission for publication, textures, training or reconstruction use. Use the original viewing links for interactive access and the separately licensed KartaView, Commons and Panoramax collection for assets whose terms you can assess per image.

The viewing URLs use Google's documented [Maps URL panorama action](https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/urls/get-started#street-view-action). Dates vary by location. Building condition, obstruction and construction should be checked against the imagery date; screenshot date is not survey date.

## Maintain the index

The index is generated by `uv run python build_route.py` from this folder's manifest. The builder validates image decoding and distinct file hashes and updates the location export. It does not fetch Google imagery. New entries should come from individually inspected views with credits and source links retained.
